Children's Hospital Central California is a nonprofit, state-of-the-art children’s hospital on a 50-acre campus with a medical staff of more than 450 physicians. In California, Children’s treats more inpatient cases than any pediatric hospital north of San Diego, making it the second largest children’s hospital in the state. The 340-bed facility is one of the ten largest hospitals of its type in the nation.

Located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno, Community Regional is an academic medical center with more than 600 beds. Its 56,000-square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California, and it is home to the region’s only comprehensive burn and Level 1 trauma center.
Since completing a 340,000-square-foot, six-story trauma and critical care building in 2007, Community Regional has added a 52-bed neuroscience center of excellence dedicated to brain and spine patients, a 50-bed cardiovascular unit with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and private rooms, and a 65-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Contra Costa Regional Medical Center is a 164-bed full-service county hospital that offers a complete array of patient-centered health care services. CCHS employs more than 3,500 individuals. Only 13 percent of the CCHS budget is from local tax resources; 87 percent is supported by federal and state funding programs such as Medi-Cal and Medicare, as well as program grants and fees.

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a 570-bed acute-care facility, owned and operated by the County of Los Angeles, and affiliated with the UCLA schools of medicine, nursing, and dentistry. The medical center has been providing health care services to the greater South Bay community since 1946 through its inpatient, emergency, and ambulatory care programs.

Formed in 1961, Kaweah Delta Medical Center is a 454-bed facility that operates as a nonprofit hospital, with less than 1 percent of funding coming from taxpayers. It received certification as a Level III Trauma Center in 2010, making it the only trauma center in the greater Visalia area.
